Focusing ring had significant play, so I’ve disassembled the helicoid area to relubricate it, which solved the issue. Took few shots to remember how it looks inside.

MOD - closer focus of 0.78m - Leica 35mm F1.4 Summilux-M lens v2 Canada

Hello, this article is one more practical exploration of close focus mod for Leica mount lens. This time I'm working with Leica 35mm F1.4 Summilux-M v2 Canada lens provided by FredMiranda forum member lifeandmylens (thank you very much Shawn!). Out of factory lens is able to focus down to 3ft only, and there is relatively easy way to customize focusing down to about 0.78m.

Leica Summilux-M 35mm F1.4 Steel Rim reissue 11301 lens has minimal focus distance (MFD) of 3ft or about 0.9m . In this article I'm discovering and then performing experimental modification of lens focusing mechanics to increase closer focusing range to about 0.76m . This modification requires precise and accurate grinding of five separate parts, a lot of attention and patience.
